Last week, I had a conversation with a woman who had a mom brought to tears with her frustrations and struggle.
She’s on a mission to lose weight. But during a heart-to-heart with her daughter, her daughter mentioned how she should probably eat more protein.
That’s when it hit her...
She looked at her daughter and said, “I thought I was eating protein… I snack on low-calorie popcorn every day.”
She wasn’t being lazy or making excuses - she genuinely thought she was doing the right thing.
It was a powerful reminder: We’re all in different seasons of our journey.
Some people
just need to be educated first so they understand why certain things work, and how to do them in a way that fits their life.
That’s
why I didn’t throw a food plan at her or overhaul her whole day.
Instead, I gave her just one action step:
👉 For one week, read food labels. That’s it.
No stress. No guilt. Just awareness.
And then there’s folks like “Beth” (not her real name), who wasn’t struggling with motivation or knowledge - she just needed a few minor tweaks.
She kept doing her home workouts (which she loves), but we adjusted a couple things with her lunch and a tiny tweak to her exercise approach.
Boom. Plateau busted - one she had been stuck at for years.
In fact, she's at the 30lb mark of weight gone.
Sometimes people try a new recipe and it’s… well… awful.
So they ditch it and hop to another. Then another. Then
another.
When all it needed was a small tweak - a little less salt, or a splash of lemon - and suddenly, it’s their favorite dish.
Weight loss is like that, too.
It’s not always about starting over.
Sometimes, it’s about sticking with it and making the right little adjustment.
If you’ve been stuck… frustrated…
or second-guessing your next step - I’d love to help.
