I get this question a lot...
Is intermittent fasting good for losing weight?
And it certainly is - but not like you think...
You see,
intermittent fasting has been around for a long time because it can work...
Many of my coaching clients have used some kind of I.F. with great success.
The "secret" is using in combination with your personality.
Some people have completely given up on the idea, without realizing it could be the BEST approach for them, but with some minor tweaks.
I want to help you with this.
You see, where it went wrong was
the experimentation.
First, there's many forms of I.F., but the two most popular methods are:
1) A daily fast of around 16 hours OR...
2) A 24-hour fast one to two times a week
The mistake people make is they approach I.F. much like those "done-for-you" meal plans.
You've probably seen these kinds of meal plans floating around...
Fruit and eggs for breakfast...
Chicken breast and salad for lunch...
Protein shake with fruit for a snack...
Salmon and green beans for dinner and fruit for a dessert...
Someone that's used to crushing pizza and bagels every day would jump into a
complicated meal plan like this with good intentions, but get burned out very quickly with something like this.
And I can't blame them! That's a very hard adjustment!
Instead, they could focus on changing one meal or snack and sticking to that FIRST.
Well, I.F. works the same way...
Never tried I.F. before?
I suggest you DON'T start with two 24-hour fasts a week.
That could be overwhelming.
Instead, if you're going to experiment with the weekly fast(s), try one 18-hour fast a week.
Break the fast with the same meal every time so it becomes a "routine". Do this for 2-3 weeks and see how you do. Experiment with different times as well (hint: it's a great tool to use for your busiest
times).
Then use small increments (2-hour increase max) for another week or so. Example: One 20-hour fast per week VS 18.
The same for daily fasts...
Instead of 16 hours, 7 days a week, perhaps
try 14 hours 5 days a week. Something like that.
You might surprise yourself and realize after "easing" into it, it's the best fit for you!
I.F. comes with other benefits, too such as:
- Reduced appetite so you naturally eat less OUTSIDE of your
fasts
- Increase in growth hormone (which helps burn fat at rest)
- Decreases cravings
So before you "knock it", try "easing into it just like any other "diet". You might find I.F. is the perfect fit for you.
It has “polyphenol” ingredients designed to help accelerate all the positive benefits of intermittent fasting…
Whether you fast or not, you can enjoy the fat-burning benefits of that tea, too.
Plus:
- It
cuts hunger and make it easy to use the power of fasting
- Accelerates the release of fatty acids from your fat cells to burn for energy
- Improves the health of your mitochondria — the power factories of your cells — for youthful energy and strength
- Boosts the level of antioxidants in your blood to repair damaged cells and reverse signs of aging
- Reduces cholesterol for better heart health
- Improve your blood sugar and prevent diabetes
- Reduces inflammation so you feel better and never get sick!
- And much more…
