We celebrated our oldest son's birthday last week. He turned 14.
It was... like LOUD.
There were 10 teenage boys in our house
playing video games, eating pizza, and maybe I'm wrong, but I'm guessing there was a contest in who could be the loudest.
Anyway, we bought a box of single-serve chips to go with the pizza because that's what Champ requested. Weird combo if you ask me, but at 14 it makes sense lol.
We had
some bags left over and I thought, "Hey, I'll enjoy some Cheetos. It's been months since I've had those delicious things."
Get this... a single-serve bag of Cheetos is 310 calories!
And the crazy part was - I wolfed the entire bag down in about 2 minutes (maybe less).
"I should practice what I preach" went through my head as I recall "installing" a hack with a couple of coaching clients recently who were struggling with overeating (even healthier foods).
After about a month, a client broke the habit of overeating when she was full.
How?
It was too simple, but I had her chew each bite, no matter what she was eating, a minimum of 25 times before swallowing. I held her accountable to this and every week, she did it.
I heard a colleague years
ago chew each bite 50 times, but man... that takes forever and I don't see that "sticking", but you do you. :)
Anyway, she admitted it felt strange at first. The benefits included her automatically eating less, without even changing what she ate.
Try it for one week. See what that does for
you.
Later tater,
Mikey
