Ever heard of a paradox that you can lose weight without going on a diet?
Sounds contradictory, right?
We all know the struggle of maintaining a restrictive diet.
Keto, Weight Watchers, Atkins, Jenny Craig.
All "diets" are just creative ways to cut calories and they don't address what's going on at a hormonal level or metabolism.
In our 20s, those were the glory days. If you wanted to lose weight, you just simply ate
less and moved more. That could be any of the above or even just cutting back on portions.
We're older now. There are a lot of important "variables" such as...
- Maintaining and even building lean muscle is more important than ever. It impacts our ability to walk, pick up things, garden, etc. Traditional
diets ignore this and your muscle (and metabolism) tanks
- Blood sugar (which impacts insulin, which impacts fat storage)
- Cortisol - a hormone that aids in STORING fat - can be cranked up by stress. This stress can be caused by too much exercise (or the wrong exercise), mental stress, work stress,
etc.
- Other factors, too...
Yes, a calorie deficit plays a role and should be the foundation of losing unwanted weight. But...
... these variables can't be ignored.
So if you're struggling to drop the weight, look over these "check points"...
>> Am I eating enough protein for me? (This varies person to person and it depends on how/if you exercise, whether you use fasting, etc.)
>> Am I maintaining the muscle I have or am I letting it go?
>> Am I finding myself with "bursts" of energy and then crash or do I feel like a drained battery throughout the day? This could be related to blood sugar issues.
>> Am I doing too much HIIT? Am I exercising too long? Am I doing all I can to help with everyday stress? These things impact cortisol.
If you don't want to waste any more time researching and guessing, only to end up spinning your wheels...
... and want me to do all the "heavy lifting" for you and create a doable action plan that makes sense for you so you can finally achieve your ideal weight without tanking your metabolism...
Start here.
This will allow me to see if I can even help you. If I can, I'll personally reach out to you.
Let's do this,
Mikey
