In case you missed it...
Researchers found that on a high protein versus standard
protein diet, overweight men and women with higher than median triglyceride (fat in the bloodstream) levels,
- Lost 19% more weight
- Lost 26.7% more total fat
- Lost 37.6% more abdominal fat
By simply increasing their protein...
I also realize that
smoothies or shakes may not be "your thing". Sometimes, I want something with more "substance". I totally get it.
That's why I wanted to share my "protein pudding" recipe.
What you need:
- 1-2 scoops of chocolate protein powder (make sure it's not filled up with unnecessary fats, sugars, and
sweeteners - I LOVE BioTrust's protein because it tastes good, it's low-calorie, and it has a protein blend that takes longer to digest (therefore burning more calories). You can get it here.
- 1-2 tbsp of nut butter (I use peanut butter, but you can use almond butter, cashew butter, etc.
too)
- Around 1 tbsp of water (maybe a bit more, depending on how thick you like it)
What to do:
- Put the protein powder and peanut butter in a bowl.
- SLOWLY add just a splash of water and mix it all together (this takes less water than you think). Mix WELL before adding more water. Again - it will take less water than you
think and that's why you only add a splash of water at a time.
- Once it gets to a "pudding" consistency, you're ready to eat!
Because it has both good fats and a slow-burning protein, you'll be full for much longer without a lot of calories.
Enjoy,
Mikey
