In the health industry, we are taught to say
things like, "It's not your fault".
It's rare you'll ever see an expert say the words, "This is YOUR fault!".
Well, I'm about to ruffle some feathers...
Listen, when you keep setting yourself up for failure, it IS your fault.
Quit buying cookies at the store and claiming "They are only for my cheat meals", then proceed to eat them every day.
Stop hitting that burger joint you love so much at least 3 times a week followed by, "I'll start tomorrow".
Sometimes we just need a good, old fashioned kick in the bohonkus (yes, I really said "bohonkus"... makes me giggle like a school
kid, too).
The thing is... you're making things harder on yourself than they need to be.
Set up your environment for success.
If you don't have cookies in your house, you won't have to constantly drain your energy fighting the temptation. Then when reward time comes, you can have one of those fancy
schmancy gourmet cookies from a local bakery.
And for crying out loud... if you're so tempted at the burger joint, go another way home.
Your environment is more important than any kind of willpower.
Willpower is sooooo overrated.

friend and coach,
Mikey
