One of the things I
encourage my coaching clients to do is make small "shifts" with their lifestyle VS a specific diet.
It sets them up for sustainability.
Example: Let's say you love to eat cereal for breakfast...
A "shift" would be to simply eat less cereal and add a source of protein (an egg for example) VS eliminating the bowl of cereal and having a protein smoothie (especially if you don't like protein smoothies lol). It needs to be realistic...
You can even "shift" your coffee. I'm not talking about giving up creamer (I won't ask my clients to do something I'm not
willing to do :)
Just a little shift to make the coffee HELP you with your goals.
First, take a look at just some of the benefits of coffee:
[1] Can Improve Energy Levels and
Reaction Times
Many studies show that coffee improves various aspects of brain function — including memory, mood, vigilance, energy levels, reaction times and general mental function.
[2] Helps Burn Fat
Several studies show that coffee can boost your metabolic rate by 3–11%. Other studies indicate that caffeine can specifically increase fat burning by as much as 10% in obese individuals and 29% in lean people. Not bad considering you're not changing your diet or exercise, right?
[3] Fights Depression
Depression is a serious mental disorder that causes a significantly reduced quality of life. In a Harvard study published in 2011, those who drank coffee every day had a 20% lower risk of becoming depressed.
Now about that "shift" with your coffee...
For starters, this shift can:
A) Increase fat-burning throughout your day and...
B) Enhance coffee's natural benefits (wakefulness, energy, cognitive function, etc) and...
C) Eliminate coffee's unwanted drawbacks (energy crash, jitters, elevated heart rate, etc)
Make this simple "shift" with your coffee
