It could be the "game-changer" you've been looking for. This is what I tell my clients...
                                                                                                                                                           Â
This is so simple,
yet so many make it hard.
Â
I ran a challenge and my #1 goal was to simplify everyone's food approach because everyone is being bombarded with information.Â
Â
And you know when you're overwhelmed and confused, you end up not doing anything. #ParalysisByAnalysis
Â
That's why I even named the challenge, "From Overwhelmed Dieter to 5lbs Lighter". :)
Â
One of the simplest things we did was increase protein intake.
Â
First, it's basic Metabolism
101...
Â
On average, a person uses about 10% of their daily energy expenditure digesting and absorbing food, but this percentage changes depending on the type of food you eat.
Â
Protein takes the most energy (burning of calories) to digest (20-30% of
total calories in protein eaten go to digesting it).Â
Â
Next is carbohydrates (5-10%) and then fats (0-3%).Â
Â
Plus...
Â
Protein is almost like a "protective blanket" over your lean muscle. By combining
strength training and increasing your protein intake, you "train" your body to burn FAT VS a combination of FAT and LEAN MUSCLE.Â
Â
Lean muscle is more "calorie-expensive" to maintain VS body fat. Therefore, you automatically burn more calories even when you're sleeping, sitting, or even watching NetFlix.
Â
Not only that, but protein:
Â
Decreases cravings
Takes longer to digest helping you feel full for longer
Â
Just look at what one of my participants said:
Â
Â
Now do you have to boil a dozen eggs or cook a bunch of chicken breasts to take advantage of this protein trick?
Â
No, of course not.
Â
The easiest way to start cranking up overall calorie-burn without feeling overwhelmed is simply having a shake for one of your meals or snacks.
Â
Just make sure it's not a crappy protein leaving you
bloated and filled with unnecessary fats and sugars. That kinda' defeats the purpose, right?Â
Â
And if it's a crappy protein, most of it (if not all) will end up in the toilet (sorry for the image there, but it's true) due to cheap, artificial ingredients.
Â
This is the option I love and recommended to
my clients...
