Â
Well, this happened:
Â
Â
Yep. That's me with glasses.Â
Â
Change is especially hard when you can't do anything about it.Â
Â
After going without any glasses for over 49 years, I felt like overnight I had a tougher time
reading my bible (or any book for that matter).Â
This in addition to a nagging knee issue keeping me from my favorite hobby (basketball), 2024 has been a challenging start for me.Â
I'll admit, I've had some self-pity moments.Â
Â
For a guy that loves routines and is a creature of habit, these changes have been messing with my mind.Â
So I could either keep my head down and wallow in self-pity, or I can shift and move forward with gratitude.Â
Â
Considering I just "preached" to my clients
recently about making shifts when "life happens", I didn't want to be a hypocrite.Â
Yeah, I have to wear glasses when I read or when I'm in front of a computer. I just keep a pair of glasses nearby and I'm thankful I can still read and work.
I can't play hoops (for now) due to a knee issue, but I'm thankful I can do push-ups,
swing a kettlebell, and go on walks. What good will me watching TV and gorging on chips do me?
When you focus on how you can shift VS your circumstances, you get a new perspective.
Â
Hope this helps you see a new perspective (see what I did there?)
