Earlier this month,
we went to Golden Corral (don't judge me) for our youngest's birthday celebration (he and I both love it). We only go here a few times a year because it's a buffet lol.
My youngest son chooses it in February for his birthday, then we go again around Father's Day and again around my birthday in October.
One of the reasons I love it?
Fried chicken for breakfast. I love everything about fried chicken. The juicy meat, the delicious skin. Mmmmm...
Now my tricks when hitting any buffet (Golden Corral or even family get-togethers) to minimize the "damage" are
these:
- Protein first (at least one palm sized portion of protein)
- If it's a lunch/dinner buffet, add 2 servings (2 fistfuls) of non-starchy veggies
- Eat ONLY that in the first "round" then you can dive into the fun stuff
Now if you like fried foods more than 2-3 times a year (who doesn't??)...
